Power PTC – Conference Scheduling – Ignored Courses

Ignored Course Overview

Very often in a student’s schedule there will be courses which you would not want parents to be able to schedule conferences for. A simple example of this might be lunch or study hall. Ignored courses are still visible to parents, but there is not an option to schedule with a teacher. Ignored courses are assigned by the course code, or the prefix of a course code. For example, lets assume that lunch courses have the course codes of ZZ12345, ZZ54321, and ZZ1111. If you would like to ignore all lunch courses, you could enter each of the codes individually to the ignored courses table or you could add an ignored course of ZZ, and that would prevent a parent from scheduling all three lunch courses listed above. This example assumes that no other academic courses start with ZZ. This is because we match ignored courses using a starts with method. So you could specify the entire code or just a course code prefix.
