Upgrading Power PTC
One of the benefits of the VMWare © image is that it is very simple to upgrade to the latest version of Power PTC. It is recommended that you take a snapshot of your virtual machine prior to making any system changes. To upgrade to the most recent version, perform the following steps:
- Log into the console of the VMWare machine using the powerptc account.
- At the Power PTC Management Menu select option 2 to Update Power PTC.
At this point, the upgrade process will start which will include updating the host operating system, confirming the Java © developer kit is installed, and finally upgrading the Power PTC application. There will be a period of a few minutes during this process where the web interface of Power PTC will not be available.
